Olympus Camedia c5050 zoom

My second digital camera, bought it new in early 2003. Ridiculy expensive by todays measure… A very good camera and I enjoyed using it for 3 years and at least 10000 pictures. If the digital agfa e 1680 had made me interested in photography, this was the camera that made the interest explode.
The only problem I encountered with it was that I wore out the on off switch. The last year I used it it was very difficult to turn it on. Usually, the opportunity I wanted to capture was long gone when the camera finally came alive.
It had a bright lens but as all digital cameras at the time the autofocus was a little slow.

Some technical info:
minimum aperture at wide angel is f1.8
5 Megapixel sensor
folding screen, very useful when taking pictures from a frogs perspective. No need to lay down flat on the ground anymore.
slots for XD-card, Smart Media card and compact flash. I mainly used it with a small hard drive from IBM, 1 GB big. Very good value for money at the time when a regular cf-card was ridiculosly expensive…

Heres some pictures of it:
